WebGenerally I run 1 slayer 1 hammered (late game legendary) just to protect the general. Rest of army is long beards / arty / iron Drake's / thunderers. Running hammerers in with general to fight enemy lord had good results, and slayers do a good job at dealing with any monster that comes to your lines where thunderers can't deal with it.
