Weband hygrophanous clitocybes, C. americana Bigelow and C. subleptoloma Singer have a number of field characters similar to C. salmonilamella, but the spores are smaller. The deposit is also colored in C. americana, but not reported in the case of C. subleptoloma. Clitocybe leptoloma (Peck) Peck does have spores which are close in Webhygrophanous Clitocybes by combination of the Stipe 3-7 cm. long, 6-10 mm. thick, equal or following characteristics: odor and taste farina- the base subclavate, surface dry, appressed ceous; pileus glabrous and of small size (1.5-4 fibrillose, whitish and silky above, dingy at the cm. broad), striate when moist; lamellae slightly base, solid.
